These are the Official Rules of Southern Community Newspapers, Inc.’s “VISIT FLORIDA TRIP AND CAR GIVEAWAY”.

Eligibility:  No purchase necessary to enter or win.  A purchase will not improve your chance of winning.  The Sweepstakes is void where prohibited or restricted by law.  The Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of Georgia who have a current valid Georgia driver’s license and are at least twenty-five (25) years of age at the time of entry. The Sweepstakes specifically excludes from eligibility legal residents of all states (including Florida, New York, and Rhode Island) other than Georgia. Employees of Southern Community Newspapers, Inc. (“Sponsor”), Visit Florida, Omni Hotels & Resorts Amelia Island Plantation and Mazda, its properties, parent companies, affiliated companies, subsidiaries, partners, dealers, manufacturers, distributors, advertising agencies, promotion and administration agencies and any entity which is involved in any aspect of the creation, production, operation, execution or fulfillment of this Sweepstakes, and their respective agents, employees, officers, directors, successors and assigns and their immediate families and those living in the same household, whether or not related, are not eligible to enter Sweepstakes. 

Winner is responsible for all taxes for the total Grand Prize as well as any costs associated with the Prize Vehicle and/or registration of the Prize Vehicle.  Winner will receive from Sponsor an IRS Form 1099 reflecting the total value of the Grand Prize $22,695.00. Entrants must agree to all rules to be eligible to win.

Deadlines and How to Enter:  The Visit Florida Trip and Car Giveaway (the “Sweepstakes”) begins at 12:00 am EST on June 1, 2013 and ends at 11:59 pm EST on August 31, 2013 (“Sweepstakes Period”).  Any mailed entry forms must be received by 11:59 pm EST on August 31, 2013. No entries will be accepted after the deadline for the Sweepstakes Period for any reason.

Eligible entrants can also enter the Sweepstakes by sending in a postcard with their name, address, phone number, email address, age, yes or no if you have a current valid Georgia driver's license, and yes you have read the complete Official Rules for the Sweepstakes to: SCNI Win a Trip and Car, P.O. Box 603, Lawrenceville, GA 30046.

Each eligible entrant can enter the Sweepstakes one (1) time per day per website.  Multiple entries by the same eligible entrant in one (1) day on each website will be discarded, such that only the person’s first entry for that day for each website will be eligible for the random drawing for the Grand Prize. For mailed entries, each eligible entrant can enter the Sweepstakes one (1) time per day, as verified by the postmarked date from the mail service.          

Grand Prize:  One (1) Grand Prize winner (“Winner”) will be chosen by a random electronic drawing from all eligible (including mailed) entries after the close of the Sweepstakes Period and on or by September 4, 2013.

The Grand Prize consists of (i) one (1) three (3) nights’ trip to Amelia Island, Florida (“Prize Trip”); and (ii) one (1) Mazda automobile (“Prize Vehicle”), described below.

The Prize Trip is a vacation package for four people, which includes: (i) three (3) nights’ hotel accommodations (quad occupancy) at the Omni Hotels & Resorts  Amelia Island Plantation in Amelia Island, Florida; (ii) two (2) breakfasts at the Omni Hotels & Resorts Amelia Island Plantation’s Sunrise Café for four people; and (iii) bike rentals and one (1) round of golf at Omni  Hotels & Resorts Amelia Island Plantation’s Ocean Links or Oak Marsh golf course for four people.  The Prize Trip is valid for one (1) year from the end of the Sweepstakes Period, and blackout dates may apply.  Redemption instructions for the Prize Trip will accompany all certificates issued to Winner.  Visit Florida’s liability is limited to the cash value of the Prize Trip. The Prize Trip does not include any travel to and/or from the hotel, meals (except as specifically included), incidentals, resort fees, tips, telephone calls or any other personal expenses incurred during Winner’s stay.  Certificates are non-transferrable, cannot be redeemed for cash value and will not be replaced if lost or stolen.  Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of the Prize Trip: $1,700.00.

The Prize Vehicle is one (1) 2013 Mazda CX-5 Sport model (equipped with standard options) from Mazda North American Operations (“Mazda”). The Prize Vehicle’s package, additional options, accessories and other specifics will be at Mazda’s discretion. Winner may select from available color combinations (certain color options may delay delivery of the Prize Vehicle).  Winner must have a valid Georgia driver’s license, be at least twenty-five (25) years of age and have proof of insurance to take delivery of the Prize Vehicle.  Winner must take delivery of the Prize Vehicle within thirty (30) days of notice of availability of the Prize Vehicle from the authorized Mazda dealership nearest Winner’s residence, as specified by Mazda. Travel expenses to and from the appropriate authorized Mazda dealership are not included.  Vehicle(s) shown in any and all advertisements for this Sweepstakes and on Mazda’s store displays are for illustration purposes only and are not the actual Prize Vehicle. Winner will be solely responsible for insuring and registering the Prize Vehicle, as well as for all vehicle title, license and registration fees, sales tax, freight, delivery, dealer prep, emissions inspection, additional equipment, insurance, gasoline, maintenance and all other fees and expenses associated with the receipt and use of the Prize Vehicle.  THE MANUFACTURER’S LIMITED WARRANTY SHALL APPLY AND NO OTHER WARRANTY, REPRESENTATION OR GUARANTEE IS PROVIDED TO WINNER WITH RESPECT TO THE PRIZE VEHICLE.  The Prize Vehicle will be directly fulfilled by Mazda in accordance with these Official Rules. ARV of the Prize Vehicle: $20,995.00.

Prizes are as stated and may not be altered or exchanged for perceived value or cash.  Prizes are non-transferable. Winner will be required to sign a release of liability form and an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release form prior to receiving the Grand Prize. In signing the release of liability and Affidavit of Eligibility and Release forms, Winner assumes all liability for his or her Prize Trip travel companion(s) in connection with the Prize Trip.

If the actual value of the Grand Prize is less than the stated ARV, the difference will not be awarded. The Grand Prize is not redeemable for cash or transferable. No substitution is allowed except, at Mazda’s sole discretion, of a vehicle of equal or greater value to the Prize Vehicle may be substituted.  The Grand Prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer. 

Winner is responsible for all taxes for the total Grand Prize as well as any costs associated with the Prize Vehicle and/or registration of the Prize Vehicle.  Winner will receive from Sponsor an IRS Form 1099 reflecting the total value of the Grand Prize.  Entrants must agree to all Official Rules to be eligible to win.

ARV of the Grand Prize: $22,695.00.

Odds of Winning:  Odds of winning the Sweepstakes depend on the number of eligible entries received.

Winner Notification:  Winner will be notified on or by 5:00 pm EST on September 4, 2013 via phone and/or email (“Winner Notification”).  At the sole discretion of the Sponsor, disqualification, forfeiture and the selection of an alternate winner may result from any of the following: (i) Winner’s failure to respond to the Winner Notification within two (2) days after its transmission to Winner; (ii) the return of an email to Winner of the Winner Notification as undeliverable after three (3) attempts; (iii) the return of any other notice to Winner as undeliverable; (iv) Winner’s failure to provide Sponsor(s) with satisfactory proof of age, identity, residency and current valid Georgia driver’s license; (v) Winner’s failure to execute and return a release of liability form and an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release within two (2) days after receipt of said release form and Affidavit; (vi) Winner’s failure to validly claim the Grand Prize by 5:00 pm EST on September 6, 2013; and/or (vii) any other non-compliance with these Official Rules. In the event of prize forfeiture, the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, award or not award the forfeited prize to an alternate winner. 

Official Rules and Winner List:  Official Rules and the name of Winner may be obtained by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Sponsor at: Southern Community Newspapers, Inc., P.O. Box 603, Lawrenceville, GA 30046.  Please indicate “SCNI Visit Florida Trip and Car Sweepstakes Rules Request" or “SCNI Visit Florida Trip and Car Sweepstakes Winner List" on the outside of the envelope as applicable. Limit one (1) request per envelope. The Winner List will be available for twenty-one (21) days after Winner is confirmed. Limitations of Liability and General Conditions:  By entering the Sweepstakes, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all respects. Entrants further agree to indemnify, release, discharge and hold harmless Sponsor and Sweepstakes Entities (Visit Florida, Omni Hotels & Resorts Amelia Island Plantation and Mazada), and their respective affiliated and parent companies, related entities and promotion and advertising agencies, including officers, directors, employees, licensees and assignees of each, from any and all claims or damages arising out of an Entrant’s participation in this Sweepstakes and/or acceptance, ownership or use of any prize thereunder. Sponsor and Sweepstakes Entities (Visit Florida, Omni Hotels & Resorts Amelia Island Plantation and Mazda) shall not be liable for (i) late, lost, delayed, stolen, misdirected, incomplete, unreadable, inaccurate, garbled or unintelligible entries, communications or submissions, regardless of the method of transmission; (ii) telephone system, telephone or computer hardware, software or other technical or computer malfunctions, lost connections, disconnections, delays or transmission errors; (iii) data corruption, theft, destruction, unauthorized access to or alteration of a Sweepstakes entry or other materials; (iv) any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by your participation in this Sweepstakes or resulting from acceptance, possession or use of any prize thereunder; and (v) any printing, typographical, administrative or technological errors in any materials associated with the tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes.

Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes, to disqualify any individual who tampers with any entry process, and to award the Grand Prize to a winner from among eligible entries not affected by any such tampering. 

Entrants authorize Sponsor and its agents to use their name, voice, likeness, biographical data, city and state of residence and entry materials in advertising, programming or promotional material, worldwide in perpetuity, or on a winner’s list, if applicable, without further compensation and without notification, unless prohibited by law.  Sponsor is not obligated to use any of the above-mentioned information or materials, but may do so and may edit such information or materials, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, without further obligation to use any of the above-mentioned information or materials.

This Sweepstakes is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and is void where prohibited by law.

Conduct:  Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify from the Sweepstakes any person it suspects: (i) has tampered with the entry process or the operation of Sweepstakes: (ii) to be acting in a disruptive manner, or with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrant in the Sweepstakes; (iii) has displayed behavior that has or will bring Winner, Sponsor, and/or Sweepstakes Entities (Visit Florida, Omni Hotels & Resorts Amelia Island Plantation and Mazda) into disgrace; (iv) has provided inaccurate information on any legal documents submitted in connection with the Sweepstakes; and/or (v) has acted in violation of these Official Rules.  Any violation of these Official Rules by  Winner will result in Winner’s disqualification as Winner of the Sweepstakes and all privileges as Winner will be immediately terminated.  ANY ATTEMPT BY ANY PERSON TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAW, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEY’S FEES) FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Sweepstakes Cancellation, Suspension or Modification:  Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes at any time during the Sweepstakes Period if the Sweepstakes is not capable of being completed as planned for any reason, including, but not limited to, infection by computer virus, “bugs,” tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, or technical failures of any kind or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes.  The decision of Sponsor to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes shall be final in all respects.
